As soon as the Chord Buddy is properly attached to your acoustic or electric guitar, you will be making music! Within a few weeks, you’ll begin removing the tabs and making the chords on your own.

ChordBuddy works on full size steel string, and most electric guitars.

If you strum with your right hand and the biggest string is on the top; it is a right handed guitar and you need a right hand ChordBuddy. If you strum with your left hand and the biggest string is on the top; it is a left handed guitar and you need a left hand ChordBuddy.

How ChordBuddy works

ChordBuddy is training wheels for your guitar. Clip it onto the neck, press the color-coded tabs, and play real songs on your very first day — starting with G, C, D, and Em. Follow the step-by-step video lessons taught by Travis Perry, the music teacher who invented ChordBuddy, and remove the tabs one at a time as you learn each chord shape.

Before you add to cart

You bring the guitar. ChordBuddy works with your own full-size six-string acoustic or electric guitar. A guitar is not included.

Fit check. Measure across the neck at the nut. About 1¾ inches — a standard acoustic (dreadnought) — fits this ChordBuddy. About 2 inches means a classical guitar, which needs the Classical ChordBuddy.
