Everyone Gets It… Just Not at the Same Time
Don’t quit. Everyone gets it — just not at the same time.
That’s the hard truth nobody tells you when you’re first learning to play guitar — or anything else in life, really.
Some people pick it up fast. Their fingers fall right into place. Muscle memory kicks in early. But for others? It’s slower. Clumsier. More frustrating. That doesn’t mean you’re not meant to play. It just means your timeline is different.
I was talking to a guitar teacher recently who said, “If someone quits before it clicks, they were never meant to be a musician.”
I couldn’t disagree more.
I’ve taught thousands of people how to play guitar — and the only ones who didn’t succeed were the ones who gave up too soon. Usually right before it was finally going to click.
A Personal Example
Take my son Goodson. When he started learning how to dribble a basketball, it didn’t come naturally. He was awkward. It took him a full month to do what other kids could do in minutes.
But he didn’t quit.
He worked at it. And now? He can go behind his back, between his legs — all the flash and finesse you’d expect from a kid who just stuck with it.
That’s exactly how it works with learning guitar.
What CHORDBUDDY Is Really About
CHORDBUDDY isn’t a gimmick. It’s not a shortcut. It’s a bridge across the “I want to quit” zone.
It gives your fingers time to toughen up.
It lets your brain build confidence.
It keeps you playing long enough for the real joy to show up.
You don’t leave training wheels on forever.
You use them just long enough to build balance.
Then one day — you’re riding on your own.
My Message to You Today
Don’t let anyone — not even a so-called expert — tell you that you weren’t “meant” to play music. If the desire is there, the ability will follow.
Everyone gets it.
Just not at the same time.
So keep going… until it clicks.
